Principals’ Letter: A Message From Holly Feldt Bernice Ayer Middle School
Dear Breaker Families,
Despite the significant cuts endured due to the state fiscal crisis, our teachers continue to work hard to reach an API of 900. With your continued support, we know we can grow the two points and be proud to be known as 900 API Middle School.
Your support will make that two point difference.
With continued appreciation to our PTSA and the new Forster Ranch Education Foundation for their support for our teachers, students and community, we recognize their contribution has enabled us to keep up with the technology needs vital to a 21st century education. The new Foundation plans to add to the Netbook Lab they purchased for us last year and fund vital teacher grants across our campus. Step into our library sometime to see the Netbooks used daily by math and other classes. The Forster Ranch Educational Foundation is dedicated to all students on our campus while planning fun community events that involve our Breaker families. For instance, their amazing Crab Feast last year sold out and offered a fun evening that supported our school with funds.
On behalf of the BAMS students, staff and community, I am very grateful for your support for our new Foundation. I am fortunate to work with such dedicated volunteers who put education highest on their list of priorities. Go Breakers!!!
Sincerely,
Holly Feldt

Principals’ Letter: A Message From Dr. Charlotte Hibsch Benedict Elementary School
Dear Benedict Families,
What a great year we had last year. I am sure that you have heard by now that our API score has now reached 913. I don’t measure our school’s success solely on this number, but it sure makes me proud. We continue to make progress with the state-wide measure for exceptional schools. I give credit to this for many different groups. First, I commend my students, teachers and support staff for their serious efforts when learning, teaching and supporting our school. Lastly, I commend the parents. I have two parent groups in particular i.e. the Forster Ranch Education Foundation (FREF) and PTA. These two groups are helping our school in their own unique ways. We need them here. Last year, they both pulled together to provide our school with a brand new computer lab. This year we will continue to work together to provide high-level school programs, services, and equipment. You already know PTA’s wonderful donations, programs, and services to our school. They continue to assist us in these difficult fiscal times. As FREF becomes more established here, I expect you will hear more about their input to the school too. Our goals for FREF will continue to be in assisting us with updated technology and/or to establish new personnel in our school. These are areas we will work together to establish. I sincerely thank you all in helping our school be the great Benedict Bobcat institute that it is!
Sincerely,
Dr. Charlotte Hibsch

The Forster Ranch Education Foundation First Annual Pledge Drive!
To help promote our pledge drive this year, we are excited to announce that we will be conducting a drawing for an iPad to those families that pledge/donate. We are asking for a pledge of $100 per child for their name(s) to be entered into the drawing for a chance to win. We will be giving one iPad away per school. Please make a pledge to your Foundation, as this money directly benefits our children and their schools. Families often spend in excess of $100 on sports & extracurricular activities, so please support your child’s education this year!! All checks need to be made out to The Forster Ranch Education Foundation and MUST be received no later than September 20th to qualify for the drawing. You can also drop off your pledge into either school’s front office.
We will stop collecting for this give-a-way on September 20th, so don’t miss out!
Winners will be announced at Back to School Night for each school.

I strongly encourage you to make a pledge and support your child’s educational experience. This year we are asking for a goal of a $100 per student. Ask yourself how often we spend this amount on our children’s sports and extracurricular activities. With the short fall in our state and district budgets we need to work together as a community to keep what our students have and add to what they need.
Please check our website as we will be posting our upcoming events for the school year. We encourage everyone to support your school-connected organizations.
Here’s to a fabulous school year!
