The Forster Ranch Education Foundation (FREF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on improving the educational environment, opportunities and resources available to the students and staff of Truman Benedict Elementary School (TBES) and Bernice Ayer Middle School (BAMS).
The Forster Ranch Education Foundation is committed to addressing the educational funding gap for Truman Benedict Elementary and Bernice Ayer Middle School. Through our initiatives, we aim to provide tailored support for programs, materials, and supplies for grade level enrichment and staff development. Our focus is to nurture the whole child and foster an environment of academic excellence.
The Foundation is made up of a team of parent volunteers who are passionate about enhancing our children’s education and supporting our educators. All revenue generated by FREF stays within the Forster Ranch community and goes directly towards improving our schools.
The Foundation works together with the PTA and the Principals of each school to assess major district funding shortfalls within the schools’ budgets and determines the immediate and longterm needs of the schools. The by-laws of the foundation allow for greater flexibility in approving direct grants to teachers, making capital improvements to the facilities and for the future planning of our schools.
Without the work of the Forster Ranch Education Foundation, which is only made possible by the generous support of our local community of families, many of these programs, opportunities and improvements would simply go unfunded.
Our Mission
The Forster Ranch Education Foundation is committed to addressing the educational funding gap for Truman Benedict Elementary and Bernice Ayer Middle School. Through our initiatives, we aim to provide tailored support for programs, materials, and supplies for grade level enrichment and staff development. Our focus is to nurture the whole child and foster an environment of academic excellence.
Our Goals
- Improve the educational outcomes of our students by supporting enrichment programs and unique learning opportunities like the Innovation Station (STEAM) Lab, PAL (Peer Assistance Leadership) and WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) Programs.
- Ensure that our K-8 Learners, Educators and Leaders have the necessary tools and supplies, including advanced technology, top-rated learning resources and qualified support personnel needed in the classrooms to excel in their roles.
- Invest in capital improvement projects at TBES and BAMS that will enhance the learning environment for our students and staff and become a source of pride for our local community.
FREF Funds Educational Excellence
FREF is committed to enhancing the curriculum for every student at TBES and BAMS. Over the years, we have raised thousands of dollars through a variety of fundraising events and pledge drives to provide:
- Teachers with essential classroom supplies and professional development
- Students with opportunities to attend National Spelling Bees and Science Camps
- Advanced technology upgrades in both schools
- Instillation of artificial turf and multiple outdoor learning sites on the TBES campus
- Unique learning opportunities with the Innovation Station STEAM Lab, PAL’s Little Buddies and WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) Programs.
Without your support, our schools would go without these enrichment opportunities and technology upgrades. Your continued support of FREF ensures that our children receive the best educational opportunities available to prepare them for the future.
